Materials

  • Shredded junk mail paper (enough to fill a large bowl)
  • 1 cup white glue
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • Old wooden spoon
  • Water (enough to cover the paper)

Directions

  1. Fill a large metal bowl with the shredded paper.
  2. Pour in enough water to fully submerge the paper and let it soak for 24 hours.
  3. After soaking, use an old wooden spoon to stir and break down the paper until it forms a smooth pulp.
  4. Add the white glue and cornstarch, then mix thoroughly until you get a sticky, dough-like consistency.
  5. Mold the mixture into your desired shape (such as a planter) using your hands or a mold.
  6. Let it dry in a well-ventilated area for at least 48 hours, or until completely hardened.
  7. Once dry, you can paint or seal it for added durability and visual appeal.
