Are you using the right compartment?
A common mistake is pouring detergent directly into the drum, although not all products are designed to be used in the same way. Capsules, for example, are generally designed to be placed directly into the drum according to the manufacturer’s instructions, while many liquid or powder detergents are dosed directly into the dedicated compartment.
Using the designated compartment for your washing machine allows the appliance to distribute the detergent at the appropriate stage of the program. However, it is important to always follow the instructions in the machine manual and on the detergent packaging.
Most detergent drawers have three compartments:
- Prewash compartment: usually marked with the letter “I”.
- Main wash compartment: Usually marked “II”.
- Fabric softener compartment: Often identified by a flower-shaped symbol.
Each compartment has a specific function.
